A beautiful shrub throughout the year, more to isolate planting than for hedges.
Photinia are evergreen shrubs of East Asian origin. The fraseri hybrids were initially selected by Fraser nurseries (Alabama, 1955) and are a spontaneous cross of glabra (Japan) x serrulata (syn serratifolia, China). PINK MARBLE® 'Cassini' is a variegated natural mutation found on a fraseri branch by Robert John Tancredi (Salem, Oregon) in 1991.
Spontaneous mutation discovered in Salem (Oregon) by Robert John Tancredi (1991) and diffused in the United States by The Conard-Pyle Company (Delaware). Tricolor foliage green - cream - pink with young shoots red edged with pink or burgundy wine edged with red. The branches grow rather spread out, then the plant rises gradually.
