Young red shoots, followed by light green foliage in summer, flaming red in autumn. Flowering in light pink corymbs, single flowers with red then black stamens. Easy plant, very hardy.
Prune short in late winter to promote the compactness and growth of many colored young shoots.
This breeding from Peter Moore (GB) is a cross of SPIRAEA japonica MAGIC CARPET® 'Walbuma' x Spiraea hayatana, a Spirea of Taiwanese origin. The result is a compact shrub up to 1.50 m maximum in height and wingspan, with cocomitating orange-red shoots with corymbs flowering of small single pale pink flowers with red stamens (giving this "sparkling" appearance, hence his name).
