Large vigorous shrub, perfect in mixed hedge, with a beautiful bright flowering scented in late spring.
Every 2-3 years, just after flowering (July), prune the shrub below the floriferous parts to cause vigorous growth of new branches, which will give the flowers the following year.
The virginalis hybrids were first obtained by Victor Lemoine (Nancy) in the early XXth century. 'Virginal' was introduced in 1909. It has oval deciduous dark green pointed leaves, and flowers in late spring in many double white flowers, with little curved petals, slightly fragrant. It develops large vigorous branches, with arched ends.
