Remarks
Musellas are propagated in vitro (Tissue Culture). Very fast growing, their sales period is very short (especially for the plugs) in spring. Requires very rich soil, drained and constantly wet in summer.
Close to banana trees, this Musaceae is native to China. It is much more compact and short than banana trees, has thicker leaves (better wind resistance), and produces in the second year of growth of the pseudostem a large bright yellow flower, resembling a Lotus flower. This flower lasts several months, and produces very short green then brown inedible bananas.
