Majestic Conifer with tormented red trunk, very ornamental. Because of its development and requirements, it is reserved for large parks, at the edge of a pond, and with sufficiently summer humid climate. Growth is rapid at the juvenile stage (1 m per year).
The genus Metasequoia is very old, the species is considered as a relic and was only discovered in 1943 in China.
Large deciduous Conifer of Asian origin, with flattened pinnate linear leaves, soft green becoming coppery in autumn. The reddish bark is fibrous, and forms strips after a few years.
