Loropetalum with the darkest foliage, purple almost black, shiny, and blooming at the end of winter the most red, melliferous.
Remarks
Loropetalum require acid soil, very draining, fertile, and a location not too exposed and protected from cold winds. They give also excellent results in pots, where they are easy to keep well dense and in good health.
Loropetalum are small shrubs not very common, with small elliptic evergreen leaves, often softly spreading shape, and an original Hamamelis-shaped bloom in late winter and spring. EVER RED 'Chang Nian Hong' is a selection of Plant Introductions Inc. (Bailey Nurseries, USA), spreading, dark purple foliage all year round, and dark red flowers.
