Many attractions make it an ornamental tree all year long : pink young shoots, yellow scented panicles in summer, fruiting in small lanterns and golden foliage in autumn. Its small size and good tolerance to poor soils and drought make it interesting for urban alignments as well as small gardens.
A shrub or multistem formation is possible and very ornamental.
Small tree of Asian origin, of spread rounded habit. Large deciduous, compound leaves, pinkish at the beginning then becoming green. Bright yellow summer flowers in large panicles, fragrant and melliferous, followed by fruit shaped like small lanterns, remaining on the tree until autumn, and whose seeds are often fertile. The foliage takes in autumn a golden color.
