Ornamental plant throughout the year, with shorter development than the type, well suited for hedges. Beautiful orange bark on old specimen.

Shrub or small tree native to the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. The evergreen foliage is glossy dark green. Flowering occurs in autumn, in pendant panicles of white bells. It is followed by spherical warty red fruits, ripen the next autumn. Flowering and fruiting are very ornamental.
'Atlantic' is a horticultural selection (Minier) from the type species, with short internodes and more compact development, which makes more fruits than the type.
