Semi-evergreen plant, silver-gray all year round except during very cold periods. The foliage is very aromatic and smells at the slightest wind or friction a strong odor of Curry. The summer yellow bloom is visited by bees.
Prune short after flowering (late summer) without going back to the old wood (as for a lavender). Rejuvenate the plant by division every 3-4 years.
Dwarf form of the Plant-Curry, HELICHRYSUM italicum 'Dwarf' is an aromatic plant used to illuminate a dark perennial bed, to create a border in a formal garden, to use in a rock garden, on a slope or dry place, or in the kitchen garden. Its cultivation is very easy in draining soil, even stony, where it grows vigorously without watering. Its maintenance is limited to one pruning per year in late summer.
