Evergreen leafy leaves, edible flowers and fruits. Good resistance to drought after a few years.
The shoots of the year lignify poorly in too cool climate, and can freeze the following winter. Protect from cold winds in zone 8.
Evergreen shrub native from South America, used for its edible fruits or in hedges. Its leaves, gray-green, are white velvety on the back. Numerous pink flowers appear in summer, with purple-pink stamens, and are followed by green, edible pineapple-flavored fruits, usable as such or in jam.
