Purple foliage, regular red ball-shaped inflorescences of sterile flowers, historical variety of good vigor and average height (1.50 m).
Flowering on the wood of the previous year, do not prune the new shoots after mid-July.
This variety of medium size was selected by Henri Cayeux (Le Havre) in 1936. It is a mutation of 'Merveille' (1927), with purple foliage and red ball-shaped inflorescences, rare colors in Hydrangea explaining its success still actual.
