Main asset
A young foliage color unique in Pieris, dark glossy purple, then lightening.
Remarks
Plant for acid soil, aerated, remaining wet in summer, and exposure not too sunny or hot.
Japanese variety (breeder Yoshimichi Hirose) with leathery young shoots of unusual dark brightning purple. The plant is covered with this deep red in spring and in autumn. In spring, cascade of flowers in a magnificent pink gradation. Compact and spreading habit.
