Bright red colors from spring to autumn, to associate with clear plants (perennials with white flowers or variegated foliage, white or yellow shrubs). Very vigorous plant that can be grown on single stem or clump (several trunks from the bottom), to admire later also its bark, orange colored when peeling off in tatters.

Remarks

Prune in early spring to promote vigorous departure and larger clusters.

Deciduous shrub from Asia, the Lagerstroemia is widely distributed throughout the hot summer areas. This vigorous selection comes from the nurseries Lacebark Inc. in Oklahoma (Carl Whitcomb). It is remarkable by the blood-red color of its young shoots, flowers and its fall foliage : the plant is red 6 months a year !
