Small deciduous rected tree becoming round-shaped with age, with reddish purple leaves turning purple green in summer. In April, red buds appear, opening in single flowers with 5 dark pink petals, followed by bright red edible fruits that persist until winter. Resistant to diseases.

Uses: adapted to small gardens, mixed-hedge, specimen, shrub bed
