A wonderful autumnal color
Uses: line or shade tree, interesting for small gardens.
American selection obtained in 1989 and resulting from a crossing between Acer truncatum and Acer platanoides. Moreover, leaves of these two species can be found on this same hybrid. It shows the strength of the Norway maple allied to the finer foliage structure of the A. truncatum. This fine foliage reminds that of the Acer cappadocicum. On a decorativ point of view, this tree is appreciated for its orange red autumnal colour, its red shoots in spring and its compact crown. Technically, it yields better results than the Norway maple when planted in bad, hot and dry conditions.
