Sufficiently fertile soil remaining humid allows the tree to better maintain its dense structure.
Conifer native to the western mountains of the Andes, open shape, spread, slow growth. Gray bark wrinkled, thick, causing the fire-resistance of the tree. The glossy leaves, dark green, flattened and pointed, are very pungent. Rounded cones 15 cm long.
