Floriferous, incomparable dark blue even in Hydrangeas. Umbels arranged regularly on the plant.
Prune after flowering to preserve the buttons for the following year.
This Hydrangea serrata is a recent american introduction (2013) selected for its very compact ball shape, about 1.20 m (4 ft) diameter adult. In June, the shrub is covered with lacecap inflorescences, on strong stems not bending under the weight of the flowers: flowering occurs on 2 years old branches. The sterile flowers are very large, ultramarine blue in acid soil to purple in basic soil. The fertile flowers are surrounded with large stamens of the same color.
